Salary: £30,000 pro rata

Location: Working from home three and a half days a week with half a day a week in the charity office near Andover, Hampshire. Quarterly meetings in central London.

Action around Bethlehem Children with Disability (ABCD) is a small humanitarian charity working at grassroots level to improve the lives of children with disabilities in the West Bank, regardless of faith, race or gender. The charity has been operating for over 35 years and in that time has raised in excess of 3 million and helps over 2,000 children a year. In short, we are a small charity that packs a big punch.

ABCD is a tight-knit team with family values at its heart working together towards one common goal. Our team is made up of the Chair, ten Trustees, Honorary Treasurer and a Junior Administrator.

We are seeking an individual who has proven experience as an executive administrator or similar position and who can work as part of this close team to provide excellent administrative support to the Chair and Trustees.

The successful candidate will have;
  • Full comprehension of office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Exemplary planning and time management skills
  • Confidence using office gadgets and applications
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise daily workload
  • High level verbal and written communications skills
  • Discretion and confidentiality
  • Social media experience
  • Awareness of the political sensitivities of being a humanitarian charity working in Palestine
  • Clean UK driving license
  • DBS check will be required

Responsibilities include;
  • Arranging dates and venues of all meetings; preparing agendas; taking and distributing minutes
  • Organising itineraries and logistics for field visits
  • Supporting the Fundraising Committee in the organising of charitable events
  • Managing communications including social media and newsletters
  • Identifying appropriate trusts and grants and assisting in the preparation of proposals
  • Co-ordinating with the Junior Administrator

The successful candidate will be highly literate, creative, and energetic with impeccable organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload.
