1. Set up your JustGiving page
JustGiving is an online fundraising website that’s widely used and very easy to get started with. You can use it whether you’re running a marathon, hosting a fundraising dinner party, giving up chocolate for a month, or any other challenge you can think of!
To get started, follow the instructions on JustGiving, and input “Action around Bethlehem Children with Disabilities” when it asks you which cause you’re supporting.
If you’re participating in The Palestine Relay please set your goal amount as a minimum of £100. You can always change this later.
Don’t forget
To make your page more engaging and help you raise more money, you should always add:
- a short message about why you’re fundraising
- a photo of yourself to make it personal
- an occasional update on your challenge and fundraising efforts

Not sure what to put on your JustGiving page? Here’s something to get you started
I’m fundraising for ABCD Bethlehem so they can build a new audiology centre to help Palestinian children with treatable hearing loss access the care they urgently need.
Right now, many families simply can’t afford hearing tests, hearing aids or specialist therapy, meaning children miss the critical chance to develop speech, language and confidence. This can have severe life-long effects, but ABCD’s new centre will make hearing care accessible and affordable, helping hundreds of children hear their parents’ voices, play with friends and thrive at school.
ABCD has been working alongside Palestinian children and families for 40 years, and I’m proud to support their life-changing work.
Please donate if you can. Every contribution makes a real difference
2. Get the ball rolling by asking your family for support
The best way to kick start your fundraiser is ask the people closest to you to make a donation! Start with friends, family and colleagues. Chat to them in person, send them a text or drop them an email. Even if only 10 people give you £10, that will hit your £100 target! Remember, a personal message will always make more of an impact than something generic.
Don’t forget
When promoting your fundraiser, remember to share widely on social media! Instagram, X and Facebook are all great places to shout about the amazing fundraising you’re doing and link to your fundraising page – and remember, adding a photo will mean even more people see your update. Here’s a helpful post to get you started

3. Remind people!
Sometimes fundraisers worry about being annoying – but it’s normal for your supporters to miss your first message, not see your post, or not get around to donating. A little reminder halfway through can double your donations.
Don’t forget
If you’re struggling to think of what to say, you can give an update on your challenge, whether you’re working through training for a race, rounding up resources for a charity event or sharing how you feel about the approaching date of your sponsored challenge.

4. Celebrate every milestone
Never be afraid to shout about your achievements, whether that’s your first £10 or £500! Every single penny raised helps support children in Palestine, and is worth celebrating. Post on your socials, tell your friends, and share your JustGiving page again.
Don’t forget
If you live in a town or village that has its own local newspaper or bulletin board, make sure you share your fundraiser with their team so they can spread the word! And remember to celebrate the people who are donating too – it’s been shown that the more involved people feel, the prouder they feel, and the more they want to donate, so you could post something like “Thanks to your donations, we’ve reached £50 to help children with hearing loss in Palestine.”

5. The more the merrier!
Get social! Could you include a friend or family member in your fundraising challenge? Would your neighbour’s dog like to join you for a leg of your relay walk? What about getting the local bakery involved in your sponsored coffee morning? The more people you involve, the more they’re likely to donate – and of course, they’ll tell their friends and family too! The more the merrier, to spread the word.
Don’t forget
Take photos, post updates, or even make a short video of your challenge in action. Seeing the excitement and energy makes people want to get involved and donate, and could help your fundraiser reach even more friends, family and supporters.
If you’re fundraising for Hope to Hearing, please note donations up to our fundraising goal will go directly to the audiology centre. Any additional funds will be used to support the charity’s work in line with its charitable purposes.
