An early start, a beautiful route, good company and a shared commitment to supporting ABCD Bethlehem made for a wonderful morning of walking for members of the Fiveways Benefice.
As many of you will be aware, 2026 marks 40 years of ABCD Bethlehem and the vital work we do to improve the lives of children with disabilities in Palestine. As part of our celebration and reflections - we have produced a very special film highlighting the work we do and our story so far.
We’re delighted to be returning to Greenbelt Festival this summer!
From 27–30 August, Greenbelt will once again bring together music, ideas, creativity, activism, spirituality and community at Boughton House, near Kettering. And, once again, ABCD Bethlehem will have a pitch in the festival village, giving us the chance to meet Greenbelters, share more about our work and talk about the difference your support makes.
This Autumn ABCD Bethlehem will be hosting two organised fundraising walks – one in the North and one in the South of England – giving supporters from across the country the opportunity to come together, enjoy some of Britain’s most beautiful landscapes, and make a real difference to the lives of children with disabilities in Palestine.
This year marks an incredible milestone for ABCD Bethlehem as we celebrate 40 years of supporting children with disabilities across Palestine. To mark this anniversary, we’ve created a special commemorative brochure that tells the story of our journey, from our beginnings in 1985 to the life-changing work taking place today across rehabilitation centres in refugee camps throughout the West Bank.
On Thursday 16th July, we held a service of thanksgiving to mark 40 years of helping children with disabilities in Palestine, It was a wonderful evening of reflection, made all the more memorable by the the contributions of those who came to speak.
Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who joined us for ABCD Bethlehem’s 40th Anniversary Service of Thanksgiving at St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate. It was a truly memorable evening and a fitting celebration of four decades of supporting children with disabilities and their families across the West Bank and Gaza.
As part of our 40th anniversary year, we're inviting supporters to join us on Saturday 10th October for our Southern Walk, a scenic 7.5-mile (12 km) route along the River Thames from Hampton Court to Richmond.
This September, we’re heading to the stunning Peak District for our Northern Palestine Relay Walk, a rewarding day of walking, fellowship and solidarity as we continue our Palestine Relay challenge.
Taking place on Saturday 5th September, this year’s Northern Walk is a spectacular circular route from Edale to Castleton via Mam Tor and Lose Hill. Covering around 9 miles, it’s a more demanding walk than our southern route, but those who take it on will be rewarded with some of the finest panoramic views the Peak District has to offer.
Flora, the daughter of one our Trustees, and her boyfriend Josh, are taking on an incredible challenge this summer, walking the breathtaking Alta Via 2 through the Dolomites and adding almost 200 miles to our Palestine Relay total.
