Walk the Thames Path for Palestine Relay – Every Step Counts

As part of our 40th anniversary year, we’re inviting supporters to join us on Saturday 10th October for our Southern Walk, a scenic 7.5-mile (12 km) route along the River Thames from Hampton Court to Richmond.

Every mile walked will be added to our Palestine Relay – our year-long challenge to collectively walk the distance from London to Bethlehem in solidarity with our partners and friends in Palestine.

Our southern walk follows one of the most picturesque and historic stretches of the River Thames, offering a relaxed and accessible route that’s perfect for walkers of all abilities. Better still, it’s wonderfully flat—something our friends on the northern walk might be a little jealous of!

We’ll begin outside the magnificent Hampton Court Palace before following the riverside for around three miles to Kingston Bridge. We’ll stop for lunch in the lovely Canbury Gardens, where you’ll find plenty of facilities and a welcoming riverside pub.

After lunch, we’ll continue past Teddington Lock, where the Thames changes from non-tidal to tidal, before passing the beautiful Ham House and finishing our walk at Richmond Bridge.

Along the way there will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the scenery, chat with fellow supporters and reflect on the purpose behind the Palestine Relay.

Start: 11:00am at Hampton Court Bridge (entrance to Hampton Court Palace)

Finish: Richmond Bridge (approximately 3:00pm)

Getting There

Hampton Court Station is around 40 minutes from London Waterloo, while Richmond offers excellent transport links with both National Rail and London Underground services, making travel straightforward from across London and beyond.
