Al Am’ari is one of the West Bank’s smallest but most densely populated refugee camps, where your donations have helped build a fully equipped centre providing vital care for children with complex physical and learning disabilities, including autism and Down syndrome.

We are delighted to be able to announce the recent completion of the physio room in the Al Am’ari camp centre – supporting the rehabilitation of these children, which will help with living with life-limiting disabilities.

About Al Am’ari camp

Al Am’ari camp, located east of Ramallah, has 15,315 refugees registered as of 2023 and a population density of 161,792 per sq km. The growing population remains a challenge for service provision as well as for the existing infrastructure in the camp, while also contributing to overcrowding and poor living conditions.

The local committee of the ailing rehabilitation centre approached ABCD in early 2024, requesting our help. The lack of resources was dire, and the need overwhelming. Al Am’ari is the sixth rehabilitation centre to join the ABCD family.

Hope through Hearing

As of 2026, we are planning to build a new audiology centre in Al Am’ari camp to support children with treatable hearing loss by providing dedicated audiology support, assessments and affordable hearing aids.
