My Story
I’m taking on the challenge of running a half marathon to raise money for this incredible cause. If you know me, you know that running is not my favourite thing and I avoid it whenever I can. But the work ABCD does is so important that I’m pushing myself for this worthy cause. Every sweaty, painful mile will be worth it if it means helping them continue their life-changing work.
Action Around Bethlehem Children with Disability (ABCD) improves the lives of children with disabilities across Palestine, working with health centers in the West Bank to provide child-centered, holistic care in their communities. ABCD empowers families, challenges stigma, and ensures every child has the chance to thrive, regardless of faith, race, or gender.
Despite challenges like limited funding, therapist shortages, and accessibility barriers, ABCD helps health centers by renovating therapy spaces, training staff, and purchasing equipment, enabling sustainable care. Therapists can then provide early diagnoses, tailored treatments, surgeries, and support for families through education and community programs.
