Supporting our partners in Palestine: Training therapists to improve Children’s Care

ABCD Bethlehem is proud to be supporting our partners in Palestine with a specialist training course designed to boost the skills, confidence, and knowledge of therapists and managers working in children’s rehabilitation centres across the region.

Funded and organised by ABCD, the Rehabilitation Therapists and Managers Development Course is bringing together professionals from different centres to take part in a 12-day programme of practical training. ABCD’s trustee, Firas Sarhan and field advisor Dr Manar Jaber, are helping lead and deliver the course.

This programme was designed with local teams to respond directly to the challenges they face. With so much pressure on services in the West Bank and wider region, this training gives professionals the tools they need to keep delivering high-quality, joined-up care for children and families.

The course covers key topics like child development, autism, ADHD, trauma, sensory needs, documentation, and leadership in rehabilitation. It’s designed for both therapists and managers, combining presentations, hands-on workshops, and real-life case studies. It’s led by a skilled team who bring expertise in rehabilitation, psychology, and clinical education

This course is a great example of what’s possible when we come together in partnership, sharing expertise, learning from each other, and working to give children the best start in life, even in the most challenging circumstances.
