Message from ABCD Chair of Trustees – second anniversary of the Hamas attacks

ABCD Chair of Trustees, Revd Daniel Burton, writes:
As we mark this grim second anniversary of the Hamas attacks on Israel we continue to mourn the loss of life on 7th October 2023, and every day since; two wrongs never make a right, and the appalling loss of life in Gaza over the past two years has only made more remote the possibility of peace and justice.
On behalf of ABCD we condemn the violence on both sides and plead with Israeli and Palestinian leaders to implement an immediate ceasefire and work for a just peace for the region. We remember the hostages, the wounded, the lives ruined and the futures destroyed.
We express our support for and solidarity with our partner projects across the West Bank who continue to care for disabled children and their families in the most difficult of circumstances; and we pledge to maintain that support believing in a shared future for all the citizens of Israel-Palestine. We express our thanks to our loyal supporters whose donations help to keep hope alive.
