Issue 47 – Autumn 2025

This is a momentous week for Israel/Palestine and for all who have hoped and prayed for peace over the past 2 years. We welcome the release of the hostages and the cessation of hostilities in Gaza: it should never have taken so long to reach this stage but we thank God that we are here. We will watch the situation very closely over the coming weeks and pray firstly that the ceasefire will hold, and secondly that the emerging peace plan will win the support of all sides. It is almost impossible to be optimistic after so much death and destruction, but it is important to be hopeful. We are in touch with potential partners in Gaza and we hope that we will soon be in a position to release the funding that we have been holding for much-needed rehabilitation.

What has been noticeably absent from the media hype of the last few days has been any reference to the situation in the West Bank where our 8 partner projects are located. We can but hope that progress towards peace in Gaza will be accompanied by a restoration of the rule of law in the West Bank.

Our Autumn Newsletter went to press before the dramatic events of the past week, but there is still important news to review, reporting on the impact of the conflict on our centres, the Jordan conference, and various fundraising initiatives around the country. So please read on, and do look out for our 40th Anniversary Appeal which will be launched at the Carol Concert on 10th December.
