Founder Trustee Val Jourdan, MBE walks 40 miles for 40 years!

To mark our 40th year we’ve set ourselves the challenge to raise £40,000 to establish and staff a dedicated, fully equipped audiology centre in Al Am’ari refugee camp serving all six ABCD-supported rehabilitation centres.  We launched a challenge (The Palestine Relay) last month with a successful sponsored walk from Green Park in central London to historic Greenwich. The intention is to cumulative walk the 2000 miles from London to Bethlehem.

Val writes “Needless to say my dodgy back didn’t allow me to take part – but I would like to do my bit!  I have therefore decided to set my own challenge. One mile is for me 2500 steps. I will contribute 40 miles by walking 2500 steps, one mile for each of ABCD’s 40 years.  

I know most people will say that’s easy peasy – but please believe me when I say – for me it will be a challenge.  Pax with her four legs will love it and of course will probably clock up at least 10,000 steps to my 2,500. I won’t manage it every day, so I’m giving myself two months to complete the challenge. If you felt you were able to help a little by sponsoring me I would be hugely grateful.
