Flora and Josh Take on the Dolomites – Adding 200 Miles to Our Palestine Relay Total

published: 8 July 2026

Flora, the daughter of one our Trustees, and her boyfriend Josh, are taking on an incredible challenge this summer, walking the breathtaking Alta Via 2 through the Dolomites and adding almost 200 miles to our Palestine Relay total.

Stretching over 160 kilometers, the Alta Via 2 is one of the Dolomites' most demanding and spectacular long-distance hiking routes. Crossing high-altitude mountain terrain, it links the Puez–Odle, Sella, Marmolada, Pale di San Martino and Bellunesi mountain ranges in one continuous trek.

Known for its exposed mountain passes, dramatic limestone peaks and unforgettable alpine scenery, this is no ordinary walk. Completing the route will contribute an impressive 198 miles towards our Palestine Relay challenge, where together we're aiming to cover around 2,000 miles – the distance between London and Bethlehem.

The Palestine Relay is part of our Hope Through Hearing campaign, raising funds to build a dedicated audiology centre in the Palestinian refugee camp of Al Am’ari. The new centre will help children with treatable hearing loss access the hearing assessments, rehabilitation and equipment they need to communicate with their families, play with friends and fully participate at school.

As we celebrate 40 years of ABCD Bethlehem, every mile walked and every pound raised helps us continue our vital work supporting children with disabilities and their families in Palestine.

Thank you to Flora and Josh for taking on this incredible challenge, and thank you to everyone supporting them along the way.
